Goals

CCina Cina – Cinema Residencies is a space dedicated to strengthening Ibero-American feature film projects in the development and editing stage, located in the Uruguayan department of Maldonado.

Our goal is to create an immersive work environment, away from cities and in contact with nature, that enhances cinematographic creativity. We provide dedicated time and space for writing and editing projects, fostering collaboration between participants and the community and providing access to leading industry consultants.

Cinna cina is a tree native to South America. Its name has a phonetic association with the word “cinema”, suggesting a poetic connection between nature and cinematic art.

Our vision is to become a benchmark in cinematographic training in the Southern Cone, contributing to the creation of a new generation of Ibero-American filmmakers.

Cina Cina – Cinema Residencies is made possible with the support of IBERMEDIA.

Alliances

Cina Cina is a training space that creates ties with the community of artists and students in the area. We design activities together with the Bachelor’s Degree in Languages and Audiovisual Media at the University of the Republic, located in Maldonado.

In Ibero-America, we established alliances with some of the most prominent spaces for training and developing film projects: BRLab (editing residency in São Paulo, Brazil) and Doclisboa (writing residency and festival in Lisbon, Portugal).

In addition, the specialized dissemination platforms LatAm Cinema and Caligari Magazine provide us with support for the communication and reach of the event.
