ABOUT US
La pobladora cine is a Uruguayan production company specializing in arthouse cinema. It emerged from Alex Piperno’s initiative to produce his own films and support projects by other directors with similar artistic visions, viewing cinema as a collaborative activity and resulting in international co-productions. Our films have been exhibited at some of the world’s most prominent festivals such as Cannes, Berlin, Rotterdam, and New Directors/New Films. Among them are Lukas Rinner’s «Parabellum» (IFFR, 2015), Alex Piperno’s «Window boy would also like to have a submarine» (Berlinale, 2020) and «Savanna and the Mountain» by Paulo Carneiro (Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, 2024).
